So far I have talked about a couple of design decisions (whether to use standard or extra tables, where to put the post_approved flag) and the impact on the development of my Post Approval MOD. I’m happy to say that I have the MOD 80% complete and installed on the main board where it’s needed. So far it appears to be working fine. The next step is to complete the moderator functionality for this MOD.

I’ve made more posts about SPAM than I care to.
I guess it just goes to show how much of an issue it has become. Most of my efforts so far have focused on preventing spammers from registering by altering the standard registration process used by phpBB, and I plan to continue along those lines. But yesterday I finally gave up and realized that no matter what I do, some spammers will get through.
Simply because they aren’t reg-bots, they are actual humans. Or as I like to call them, pond scum.
