It's a fair question, SamG, and one that I've answered about phpBB3 several times too. :-) At one point earlier in life I was really interested in having the best and latest of anything and everything. I even built my own computers from parts.

Not anymore. :-) Today I have other more productive things that I want to do with my time, and dealing with the "latest and greatest" isn't high on the priority list anymore. I don't have anything against WordPress 2.1, exactly. To be honest I don't even know what it offers that 2.0 doesn't. I have another blog still running that's on 1.5, and it's perfectly functional. For that particular blog I've modified it enougn that upgrading was going to be painful. For this blog I started with 2.0.

I recognize now that the troubles I was having with upgrades were self-inflicted. :-) But until I have the time to actually see what 2.1 offers that 2.0 doesn't, and until I have the time to actually perform the upgrade... well, I just don't see that point bubbling to the top of my priority list anytime soon.

WP 2.0 works. :-) From what I've read some themes and plugings don't work with 2.1, and I have just spent time playing with the look over the past few days. WP 2.0 is comfortable. I'll stay here a while. 8)

For the same reason I don't plan to upgrade to phpBB3 right away when it goes gold. I haven't even downloaded a beta to play with. :-)

Just out of curiosity, and only if you care to elaborate, I'd be interested in knowing why you're not interested in 2.1.

Blog update seems to have gone okay. For what it's worth, I discovered why I had so much trouble the last time during the upgrade. It was a result of my attempts to integrate WP and phpBB. Most of that code had been removed, but a few items remained as I was really interested in getting it to work.

Once I removed all traces of my integration attempts the upgrade went rather smoothly. For that reason I have captured all of the custom changes that I have made to a text file so I can "re-MOD" my WordPress installation when I have to upgrade again.

As I type this I am on 2.0.7, which is the latest in the 2.0.x line. I'm not interested in 2.1.
