First, it does appear a bit more professional for some reason, and secondly it simplifies web design when you don't have to take into account what happens with super-wide browsers. To move, moving to fixed width is a positive thing. My impression on the new site is basically positive, although it does remind me of a blog rather than a home site for a product. I was basing my statement on the assumption that they would not use beta code on the live board. From what was stated by <a href="http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=526970" rel="nofollow">Acyd Burn</a> the downtime over the past few weeks was used to push ahead with the release of phpBB3 on phpbb.com. Some of the site features that are not related to phpBB3 aren't quite ready. Esmond, your comments continue to get tagged as spam.
